In 1979 Graham hopkins
began research and development
of Road & Track products in
Austalia. Manufacturing and
sales to the public commenced in
1982. Then, under John Sullivan,
the business built and sold
around 600 more Tourers.
The Road & Track trailer is
engineered to meet very
stringent requirements. Before
being released on the market it
was subjected to two years of
trials to find any weaknesses or
shortcomings. In 1999 further
intensive testing was done.
The trailer is designed to
traverse the rugged terrain
typical of Outback Australia,
and to provide safe and trouble
free off the bitumen family
camping for both conventional
car and 4 wheel drive users. It
is strong but very light in
weight, making it suitable for
small cars and the new
generation of lightweight 4WDs
as well as full-size 4WDs.
Wheels are available to match
those of the towing vehicle.
The TOURER has been
used extensively by people who
know the Outback, including
4x4 Australia magazine,
Overlander magazine, and
Elizabeth and Helmut Mueller
(travel journalist and
photographer respectively). It
was the trailer chosen by Ron
Moon when retracing Jardine's
trek to the Gulf through some of
Australia's most inhospitable
country. The Road & Track
trailer has also been supplied
to Telecom and was selected by
the National Saftey Council for
parachuting into disaster areas
from rescue helicopters. Export
markets have included Germany,
New Zealand and Zimbabwe.
The TOURER is now
manufactured by Aussie Road &
Track Trailers. The Tourer is a
product strong on reputation and
with a proven history that makes
it an obvious choice for anyone
contemplating hassle-free
camping anywhere in the World.
The Tourer comes with quite a pedigree.
It has been awarded "Best Off-road Camper Trailer" by 4X4 Australia magazine.
Overlander magazine called it "the only real
off-road camper" and gave it the title of "Best camping trailer".

We have tested the 'Tourer' exhaustively behind sedans on freeways and in tortuously rough country behind 4WDs.
The 'Tourer' is not indestructible, but from our testing experience we believe you'll seriously harm your 4WD before you inflict great injury on the 'Tourer'!
